US President Donald Trump has said the men arrested at a UK air base used by American forces were looking to do “big damage”. His comments came as British police continued to investigate an alleged plot targeting RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire.

Trump discussed the incident with British officials, with both sides examining possible foreign involvement in the case. Iran has firmly denied any links to the five men who were arrested near the base and later released on bail.
