Orient Cables, German Green Steel IPOs Close on Strong Note

Two public issues closed for subscription on Tuesday: Orient Cables’ Rs 552 crore IPO and German Green Steel’s Rs 303.9 crore offer, capping a busy primary-market day.
Orient Cables, priced in the Rs 258-272 band, was reported subscribed about 8.32 times, signalling healthy demand for the wires and cables maker.
German Green Steel and Power, with a Rs 132-139 price band, saw strong interest through the day, with live reports pegging subscription around 20.52 times in the afternoon.
Both issues rode the continued retail appetite for new listings, even as secondary markets stayed choppy. Allotments are expected within the week, with listings to follow.
Market watchers said the strong response reflects confidence in niche manufacturing stories. Investors will now track listing-day performance for cues on near-term sentiment. Bankers said the October pipeline remains strong, though volatile secondary markets could test investor appetite in the coming weeks. Listing dates for both companies will be announced shortly.
