Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is visiting the United States to attend the G20 Trade Ministers’ meeting. He will also push forward talks on the proposed bilateral trade agreement between India and the US.

Goyal is expected to meet senior US officials on the sidelines of the gathering. The visit comes at a time when both countries are working to expand trade ties and reduce friction over tariffs.

The minister has said India wants a fair and balanced trade deal with America. Officials from both sides have held several rounds of discussions in recent months.

Goyal is likely to raise issues affecting Indian exporters during his meetings. He will also highlight new investment opportunities in India. The government says stronger trade links will create jobs and boost growth in both countries. Officials said the minister will also meet leaders of the Indian diaspora during the trip.
