The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu held its seventh convocation, conferring 420 degrees on students across its B.Tech, postgraduate and PhD programmes. The ceremony marked another milestone for the young institute, which has been steadily expanding its academic offerings and research output since it was established.

Graduating students received their degrees in the presence of faculty members, families and dignitaries, with medals awarded for outstanding academic performance. Institute officials highlighted the growth in research publications, industry collaborations and campus infrastructure over the past academic year.

The convocation address underlined the role of young engineers and researchers in building a self-reliant India and contributing to emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors and clean energy. Officials said placement outcomes had remained strong, with students securing roles across core engineering, software, consulting and higher studies. The seventh convocation comes as IIT Jammu continues to develop its permanent campus and add new departments and centres of excellence.
