Veteran actor Anupam Kher has received a Certificate of Recognition in Toronto for his contributions to cinema, storytelling, education and mentorship. Kher shared the news on social media on Monday, revealing that the honour was presented by Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North-Caledon.

The actor wrote that he was touched by her words about his work, and thanked Sahota and the residents of the constituency, accepting the honour with gratitude and sharing it with everyone who had been part of his journey. The recognition came as Kher concluded the Toronto leg of his North American theatre tour, where he is performing the play Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane opposite Swaroop Sampat; the 25th show ran in Toronto on September 27.

The actor’s upcoming films include Yeh Prem Mol Liya, releasing November 27, and Fauzi, due December 3, while his 555th film has also been announced. Kher has received several honours during the North American tour, including a recognition from the Georgia governor earlier this month.
