The National Board of Examinations has sharply lowered the qualifying cut-off for NEET PG 2025 after approval from the Union Health Ministry. The revision applies to all categories of candidates.

For general and EWS candidates, the qualifying mark has fallen from 276 marks at the 50th percentile to 103 marks at the 7th percentile. For SC, ST and OBC candidates, the cut-off is now 90 marks at zero percentile.

For persons with benchmark disabilities in the general category, the qualifying score has dropped from 255 marks to 90 marks. The board said the revised scores apply to admissions in the current counselling rounds.

Officials said the cut was made to fill vacant postgraduate medical seats across the country. Lower cut-offs in mop-up rounds have become common as thousands of MD and MS seats go unfilled each year.

Candidates should check the NBEMS notice for the exact qualifying status on their scorecards. Colleges will consider the revised cut-offs during the remaining rounds of counselling.
