Zelensky alleges new Russian mobilisation, more NK troops
Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of preparing a fresh mobilisation and claimed North Korea is sending more troops to support Moscow’s war.
Speaking on September 28, the Ukrainian president said more than 8,000 North Korean soldiers were already in Russia, with another 10,000 being selected for training and deployment. The claims were reported by AAP and Ukraine Brief.
Zelensky also alleged that North Korea was producing Shahed-type attack drones with Russian technical support — a claim that, if true, would mark a major expansion of Pyongyang’s role.
Ukrainian intelligence has previously reported North Korean involvement, but the new figures have not been independently confirmed. Russia and North Korea have not commented on the latest allegations.
The claims come as Western officials warn that Moscow is seeking fresh manpower for its grinding offensive in eastern Ukraine.
