Floods and landslides triggered by heavy rain have killed at least 21 people in Nepal, officials said. Five people were missing and five others injured after four days of torrential rainfall.

According to Nepal’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, landslides caused most of the deaths. Floods and continuous rainfall accounted for the remaining fatalities.

Save the Children, citing the government, said more than 20 people were killed in western Nepal, where nearly 750 families were forced from their homes. Rescue teams distributed shelter and hygiene kits.

Authorities warned of further flash floods in dozens of districts. The disaster came just weeks after deadly floods in northern Nepal last month, according to reports.
