Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met a bipartisan United States House of Representatives delegation in New Delhi on Monday. The delegation was led by Representative Brian Mast, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

The meeting focused on the evolving India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, with special emphasis on defence industrial and technological cooperation. It followed the conclusion of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026 at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan, where the Indian Army showcased the SkyStriker loitering munition in a precision strike. US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor witnessed the training.

Separately, the second India-Fiji Bilateral Joint Working Group on defence was held in New Delhi on September 28. It was co-chaired by Amitabh Prasad, Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) in the Ministry of Defence, and Mason Smith, Fiji’s Permanent Secretary for Defence and Veterans Affairs.

The working group discussed military training and capacity building, service-to-service engagements, maritime security, cyber training and defence industry collaboration. The Fijian delegation will visit Kochi on September 29 and 30 to inspect Southern Naval Command facilities and formalise advanced naval training cooperation.
