The Delhi High Court on September 25 directed Meta to remove within 24 hours an AI-generated morphed image of a woman shown alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The order was passed by a single-judge bench of Justice Girish Kathpalia.

The image was allegedly displayed at a Citizens for Justice and Peace protest at Jantar Mantar and circulated on social media. The woman’s photo was allegedly used without consent in an AI face-swap; she also received threats. Notices were issued to four CJP activists.
