The Supreme Court on Monday refused to entertain Percept Talent Management’s appeal against a ₹14.49 crore arbitral award in favour of former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V Mohana declined to interfere with the concurrent findings of the arbitral tribunal and both High Court benches.

The award covers ₹14.49 crore plus 12 percent annual interest from November 21, 2007, until payment, along with ₹50 lakh in costs. The appeal was filed by Percept Talent Management Ltd and Percept D’Mark (India) Pvt Ltd.

The dispute arose from a 2003 Player Representation Agreement. The termination clause was triggered on August 1, 2006, but Percept kept representing Ganguly after his return on November 30, 2006, and issued notice only on November 21, 2007.

The High Court held the termination right had been waived and that Ganguly’s Kolkata Knight Riders earnings fell outside the revenue-sharing arrangement. Its division bench dismissed the appeal on April 16, 2026. The decision ends a legal battle that stretched over two decades.
