An Ahmadi Muslim man was stabbed in Punjab province in the second attack on the community in three days, according to minority rights groups.

Hamid Javed was attacked with a knife by an unidentified man in the Lathianwala area of Faisalabad district on September 21 while returning home, the Voice of Pakistan Minority said. The attack left him seriously injured.

The stabbing came two days after a shooting in Sargodha on September 19, in which Malik Mahmood Mubarak, 70, and his 40-year-old son Ayaz were shot by two men on a motorcycle while driving home. Both survived, and police registered a criminal case, but no arrests have been reported.

The Ahmadiyya community says the attacks are faith-motivated and part of a broader pattern of persecution. The police report on the stabbing did not name the attacker and did not mention any religious motivation, CAP Freedom of Conscience said.

United Nations human rights experts had called on Pakistan on September 7 to end the persecution of the Ahmadiyya community and break the pattern of impunity.
