The triple-murder trial of Lindsay Clancy has ended in a mistrial after jurors deadlocked 11-1 after six weeks of testimony. Eleven jurors favored acquittal on grounds of insanity, while one holdout believed she was guilty of murder.

Clancy was charged with killing her three children — Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and 8-month-old Callan — at their home on January 24, 2023, while husband Patrick was out running errands. She strangled the children with exercise bands, then survived a suicide attempt that left her paralyzed.

Since the mistrial, deleted Reddit posts tied to Patrick Clancy have surfaced, showing his fear over Lindsay’s worsening mental health. A December 2022 post says she started the antidepressant Zoloft after their third child’s birth, lost 15 pounds in two months and slept only three or four hours a night. Two days later, he asked whether the medication had ever led users to think of harming loved ones.

Testimony also described hospital visits in mid-December and a stay at McLean Hospital from December 30 to January 5. Clancy returns to court on September 29, when prosecutors are expected to decide whether to retry the case, downgrade charges, offer a plea deal or drop it.
