Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan 2 collected Rs 81.50 crore in its opening weekend in India, trade data shows. The figure is the India net collection, according to Bollywood Hungama. The film released in cinemas on August 14.

It opened with Rs 21.89 crore on day one. Trade reports put Saturday at Rs 33.75 crore and Sunday at Rs 26 crore. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh pegged the four-day India net at Rs 94.37 crore, per reports.

The sequel to the 2007 film took its opening week total past Rs 111 crore in India. Its lifetime India net now stands near Rs 146 crore. Overseas, the film has grossed Rs 33.41 crore, taking the worldwide total past Rs 207 crore.

Reports say the run makes it Hashmi's first solo Rs 100-crore grosser. The film benefited from strong word of mouth, trade watchers note. What matters next is its digital premiere, which the makers are yet to announce.
