The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is planning a single unified portal for government job exams, where candidates can apply centrally for tests run by UPSC, SSC, the Railway Recruitment Board and even state recruitment boards, the Times of India reported.

The portal would publish all exam notifications in one place along with an integrated calendar designed to avoid date clashes between exams. Candidates would complete a one-time registration, sharing their mobile number, email and Aadhaar ID and uploading their photo and signature only once. Their details would then be filled in automatically when they apply for any listed exam.

Discussions are at an advanced stage, with UPSC, SSC, RRB, IBPS, the Public Enterprises Selection Board and the National Recruitment Agency approached to come on board, according to ministry sources. A senior DoPT official told TOI that modalities were still being worked out and the portal may take final shape in a month or so.

Aspirants often apply to several exams across different agencies, and a single portal could cut paperwork and end the frustration of overlapping exam dates.
