The Israeli military said on September 27 that it killed the man who abducted Noa Argamani during the October 7, 2023, attack. The IDF and Shin Bet identified him as Saher Nidal Latfi Saqr.

Saqr was killed in a strike in Nuseirat, central Gaza, on September 25. The IDF said he was the motorcycle driver who took Argamani and her partner Avinatan Or from the Nova music festival into Gaza. Video of the abduction became one of the most widely seen images of the attack.

The military said Saqr was linked to global jihadist groups in Gaza. It said he supplied weapons to Hamas during the war and was recently working with Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives to plan attacks on Israeli troops and civilians, in violation of the ceasefire.

Argamani was held in Gaza for eight months. She was rescued by Israeli forces in June 2024 in Operation Arnon. Or was released from captivity in 2025.

The strike was carried out by an elite police unit, according to the IDF statement. The military said Saqr was killed to “remove a threat.”
