The Brisbane Lions have won a third straight AFL premiership, storming home to beat Fremantle by seven points in a thrilling grand final at the MCG. Brisbane kicked the last four goals of the game in under five minutes to win 14.12 (96) to 12.17 (89) on Saturday, in front of 100,023 fans. Fremantle had led by 17 points late in the final quarter and looked set for a first-ever premiership. Young forward Logan Morris was the hero, kicking the go-ahead goal with about a minute left and then sealing the win in the dying seconds. Charlie Cameron and Zac Bailey also kicked late goals in the comeback. The victory gives Brisbane a third consecutive flag, matching the club’s own 2001-03 three-peat. It is the Lions’ sixth premiership overall and makes them only the second club of the modern era to win three in a row. For Fremantle, it was heartbreak. The Dockers, in their first grand final since 2013, are still chasing a maiden title. Shai Bolton won the Norm Smith Medal from the losing side, the first player to do so since 2005.
