Meta Connect 2026: AI Glasses Get Muse AI, Dolby Atmos

Meta’s annual Connect 2026 event brought a fresh set of AI glasses equipped with Muse AI, hearing enhancement features and Dolby Atmos audio, as the company doubled down on its vision of AI-powered eyewear for everyday life.

The new glasses build on Meta’s growing lineup of smart eyewear, combining a familiar glasses form factor with an increasingly capable AI assistant and richer audio.

Smarter and more immersive

The headline upgrade is the integration of Muse AI, Meta’s assistant, which can answer questions, translate conversations, identify objects in view and help with daily tasks, all through voice interaction. Hearing enhancement is designed to make conversations clearer in noisy environments, a feature aimed squarely at real-world usability.

Dolby Atmos support adds spatial audio for music, calls and media, turning the glasses into a discreet personal audio device as well as an AI companion.

The wearables race

Meta’s push comes as tech giants increasingly see smart glasses as the next major computing platform. By packing AI, audio and subtle sensors into normal-looking eyewear, companies hope to succeed where bulky headsets have struggled to reach the mainstream.

Competition in the space is heating up, with rivals also investing in AI glasses and the software ecosystems around them.

Why it matters

If AI glasses take off, they could change how people access information, communicate and consume media, shifting interaction from screens to voice and ambient computing.

Meta’s latest iteration suggests the technology is maturing fast. Whether consumers adopt it at scale will depend on price, battery life, privacy assurances and, above all, whether the AI proves genuinely useful in daily life.

Privacy remains a key concern, and Meta will need to convince users that always-on AI eyewear respects their data, especially after past controversies around its handling of personal information.

The company is expected to reveal pricing and availability soon, which will determine how quickly the new glasses reach consumers worldwide.
