Delhi Schools Go Online, Exams Shifted Amid CJP Protest

Several schools and colleges in Delhi have moved classes online and postponed examinations scheduled for Saturday, October 10, ahead of a proposed CJP protest at Jantar Mantar.

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya will hold classes 6 to 12 online, citing extensive barricading in the New Delhi area and concerns over student safety.

Bharati Vidyapeeth's College of Engineering postponed its mid-term exams to Monday, citing anticipated metro station closures. Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology moved its mid-terms to October 12.

Raghubir Singh Junior Modern School rescheduled its parent-teacher meeting, while Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's Mehta Vidyalaya cancelled sports day practice.

Delhi Police denied permission for the October 10 demonstration, citing short notice and past non-compliance, and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita is in force in the New Delhi area.

The protest seeks the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged voter-roll irregularities. Delhi Police have also proposed entry and exit restrictions at 57 metro stations from Friday night, and several Delhi-bound trains have been cancelled or diverted.
