Shai Hope struck a magnificent century as the West Indies pulled off a historic run chase against India in the second T20I on Friday.

Hope's hundred anchored the innings as the visitors chased down a daunting target with composure. The win leveled the series and gave the Caribbean side a famous victory on Indian soil.

India had posted a strong total, but the West Indies batters refused to buckle under the required run rate. Hope found an able partner in the middle order as the chase went deep.

The result is a boost for West Indies cricket ahead of a busy international calendar. For India, the defeat exposed weaknesses in the bowling attack at the death.

The deciding match of the series will now carry extra weight. Both teams will look to fine-tune their combinations with major tournaments on the horizon."" Hope's knock is already being rated among the finest T20I innings by a West Indian. The chase ranks as one of the highest successful run chases in the format's history. Indian fans will hope for a strong response in the series decider.
