India will turn its attention to the Asian Champions Trophy after retaining the men’s Asian Games hockey title and securing a direct berth for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The tournament will be held in Jalandhar and Mohali from October 27 to November 5. The event brings Asia’s top teams together in Punjab, a traditional stronghold of Indian hockey.

Hosting the tournament at home gives India familiar conditions and strong crowd support as it begins its Olympic cycle. The Champions Trophy is a key test for the squad after the Asian Games triumph, which confirmed India’s place at Los Angeles 2028 without needing a qualifying tournament.

Team management is expected to balance experience with new faces as it builds toward the Olympics. Fixtures and the full schedule are expected to be released in the coming days. Fans in Punjab can look forward to top-level international hockey later this month.
