Iyer Storms To Career-Best Seventh In T20I Rankings, Gill Stays Top
India captain Shreyas Iyer has jumped 18 places to a career-best seventh in the ICC men’s T20I batting rankings, following his unbeaten 102 off 43 balls against the West Indies in Lucknow. The knock featured 10 fours and six sixes and sealed an eight-wicket win.
Iyer’s 786 rating points make him the third-highest-ranked Indian batter in the format. India now have four batters in the global top 10 — Ishan Kishan first (902), Abhishek Sharma second (887), Iyer seventh and Tilak Varma tenth.
In the ODI rankings, captain Shubman Gill consolidated his No. 1 spot after his unbeaten 223 against the West Indies in Guwahati — the highest individual score in a successful ODI chase. He equalled his career-best tally of 841 rating points, while Virat Kohli slipped to third.
Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan reclaimed the No. 1 T20I bowling ranking, ending Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed’s stint at the top.
