Gold Falls to Rs 1,47,463 per 10g in IBJA Morning Fix

Gold prices fell in India on Thursday, October 8. The IBJA morning benchmark for 999-purity gold stood at Rs 1,47,463 per 10 grams.
That was Rs 512 lower than the previous day’s fixing of Rs 1,47,975, a decline of 0.35 per cent. The benchmark rates exclude GST and making charges.
Silver fell more sharply. The IBJA rate for 999-purity silver dropped Rs 3,539 per kilogram to Rs 2,18,045, a fall of 1.6 per cent from the previous session.
Retail rates in major cities stayed higher than the benchmark. Chennai recorded the highest 24-carat rate among listed cities on October 8, and Dubai continued to quote lower rates than India.
The pullback follows a strong run for the metal. Analysts link the move to global cues and profit-booking after recent highs, with the RBI’s rate hike also raising the opportunity cost of holding gold.
Buyers should confirm the final price with their jeweller, since making charges and taxes vary. Hallmark and invoice details matter as much as the headline rate.
