TCS Q2 Profit Rises 15% to Rs 13,884 Crore; AI Run-Rate $3.1B

Tata Consultancy Services beat second-quarter estimates with net profit rising 14.9 per cent to Rs 13,884 crore. Revenue for the quarter reached Rs 73,188 crore.
The company’s annualised AI revenue run-rate rose 19 per cent to 3.1 billion dollars. TCS also declared a second interim dividend of Rs 12 per share for shareholders.
But the results carried a warning sign. Reuters reported that TCS posted its weakest September-quarter revenue growth in three years, raising concerns about client spending and demand conditions.
The numbers landed as Indian IT stocks face fresh pressure. US regulatory moves on a green-card programme used by outsourcing firms added to the sector’s worries this week.
Investors will now watch whether the AI business can offset the slowdown in traditional services. The results set the tone for the rest of the earnings season, with peers reporting in the coming weeks.
For the broader market, TCS remains a heavyweight that can swing the indices. Its commentary on deal wins and client budgets will be parsed closely by analysts.
