Monsoon withdraws from Telangana; dry weather ahead

The Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn further from Telangana. The India Meteorological Department said the withdrawal line now passes through Tandur, Vikarabad, Hyderabad, Jangaon, and Bhupalpally.
The monsoon has also pulled out of remaining parts of Maharashtra. It withdrew from parts of Goa, Karnataka, Odisha, and more areas of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
The IMD has forecast dry weather across Telangana for October 8, 9, and 10. No weather warnings are in force for the state. The national withdrawal line now stretches from Supaul in Bihar to Panaji in Goa.
The four-month monsoon season ended with an 8 percent national surplus. But October is expected to bring above-normal rainfall in parts of southern peninsular India, driven by low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal.
For Telangana, the immediate outlook is clear skies. Farmers and residents can expect dry conditions for the next three days, according to the Hyderabad weather centre. The withdrawal marks the end of the rainy season for the state. Officials say the transition to winter weather will be gradual. Residents should stay updated with daily forecasts from the weather department.
