Nvidia, Microsoft launch RTX Spark AI PCs

Nvidia and Microsoft have launched a new generation of Windows PCs built for AI agents. At an event in San Francisco on Wednesday, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella unveiled the RTX Spark platform and the Surface Laptop Ultra, priced from $2,599. The laptop packs up to 1 petaflop of AI performance and 128 GB of unified memory. It can run models of more than 120 billion parameters locally, without the cloud. Pre-orders opened on October 7, with shipping from October 16. Microsoft also announced general availability of Microsoft Execution Containers, the operating-system infrastructure that lets AI agents run safely in the background on Windows. Huang called the container system revolutionary for how agents are built and deployed. For Microsoft, the move shifts AI work from expensive Azure data centres to devices customers buy themselves. For Nvidia, it opens the Windows PC market long dominated by Intel and AMD. Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo will also ship RTX Spark devices.
