SpaceX recovers Starship Flight 13 booster

SpaceX has recovered the booster from its Starship Flight 13 mission, bringing the hardware into the Port of Brownsville aboard the recovery vessel Forte on Tuesday.
The booster, known as Ship 40, splashed down safely in the ocean after the flight. It was the company’s 30th consecutive safe splashdown recovery, extending a remarkable streak.
Recovering and reusing boosters is central to SpaceX’s plan to make Starship a fully reusable rocket. Each recovery gives engineers data to improve the next flight.
Starship is the largest rocket ever built and is key to NASA’s plans to return astronauts to the Moon. SpaceX is pushing toward an ambitious flight schedule in the months ahead.
Flight 13 was a test mission, and recovering the booster intact gives engineers a full data set. SpaceX plans to increase its Starship flight rate sharply next year.
Engineers will now inspect every inch of the recovered booster hardware.
