Reuters Poll: Harris Voters Far More Enthusiastic for Midterms

A new Reuters/Ipsos poll shows a wide enthusiasm gap ahead of the November midterms. Forty-eight percent of voters who backed Kamala Harris in 2024 said they are very enthusiastic about voting, compared with just 30 percent of Donald Trump voters.
The poll also found men becoming more enthusiastic and shifting toward the Democrats. Democrats remain favored to win a House majority in the November 3 elections.
The findings land as Trump’s approval rating hit a record low of 32 percent in an earlier October poll. Among Hispanic voters, only 24 percent approve of the president, while 52 percent plan to vote for Democrats.
The survey of 4,506 US adults was conducted over six days and completed on Monday. It measured enthusiasm rather than predicting the result directly.
Republican consultant Charlie Gerow played down the gap, saying the midterms are still a lifetime away in political terms. But he conceded the numbers give Democrats reason for confidence.
