Vance to hold Ohio rally Friday as midterm fight heats up
Vice President JD Vance will hold a rally in Lima, Ohio, on Friday, October 9. The event is set for the Allen County Regional Airport. Vance is expected to speak at 1:40 pm, with the rally starting at 12:15 pm.
The rally is the second of three Ohio rallies in ten days. President Trump held a rally in Dayton on October 3. Another is planned in Youngstown on October 12. Ohio has become a key battleground in the November 3 midterm elections.
The Senate race is between Republican Senator Jon Husted and former Senator Sherrod Brown. Brown is trying to win back his old seat. The governor’s race pits Republican Vivek Ramaswamy against Democrat Amy Acton.
Vance’s visit is aimed at boosting turnout for the Republican ticket. The White House has made Ohio a priority state. Polls show tight races in both the Senate and governor contests.
Vance has been a regular campaigner in Ohio this year. His visits draw large crowds. The state has shifted right in recent elections. But Democrats see a path back in 2026.
