Google brings Gemini Spark agent to macOS in beta

Google has expanded its Gemini Spark agentic AI assistant to the Gemini app on macOS in beta.
Spark can work across desktop files and apps to automate repetitive tasks. Users can ask it to sort files, organise documents, build spreadsheets and manage schedules.
The assistant connects desktop files with Google Workspace. For example, it can create a budget spreadsheet from invoices saved on the computer and set up recurring updates.
Google says Spark only has access to files the user gives it permission to use. It asks for approval before high-stakes actions like spending money or sending emails.
The beta is available to Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and over in the United States. Ultra costs around $99 per month.
Google also added support for custom Model Context Protocol, letting users connect their own apps. New integrations include Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable and Zillow Rentals.
