Apple October launch: what to expect from both events

Apple is expected to hold not one but two product launches this October. Here is what the reports say to expect.
The first wave is rumoured for October 13. The headline product would be Apple’s smart-home hub, a device reportedly in development for several years. It is said to have a 6-inch square display for tabletop or wall use.
The hub is expected to control smart-home devices and handle FaceTime calls, music, photos and widgets. A more capable Siri would be central to the experience.
Apple may also launch a second-generation HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV 4K at the same event. Both are expected to get new chips and Apple’s N1 wireless chip.
The second wave is expected in the final week of October and would focus on Macs. Rumoured products include an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro, an M6 iMac and premium MacBooks with OLED displays.
Apple has already confirmed a Mac Studio with the M5 Ultra chip for late October. An OLED iPad mini is also expected this month, though its timing is unclear.
Apple has confirmed nothing. But if the reports hold, this would be the company’s biggest push yet to bring its AI strategy into the smart home.
