Airtel’s postpaid hike explained: what changes from October 8

Bharti Airtel raised postpaid tariffs by Rs 50 from October 8, 2026. The revamped plans bundle one free international roaming trip per year. Here is what changes for subscribers.
The individual plan rises from Rs 449 to Rs 499 per month. The two-SIM family plan moves from Rs 699 to Rs 749. Three-SIM plans cost Rs 1,049. Four-SIM plans are Rs 1,249 or Rs 1,449. The five-SIM plan is Rs 1,799. The hike is a uniform Rs 50 across slabs.
The roaming pack gives 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS. It is valid for five days. Customers can activate it at a time of their choice. Every family member on a family plan gets the benefit. The company values the roaming offer at Rs 2,000.
Existing postpaid users will move to the nearest higher plan within a month. They do not need to act immediately. The new plans keep existing benefits like unlimited data, spam protection and entertainment subscriptions.
The effective rise ranges from 3 to 11 per cent across plans. Lower-priced plans feel the biggest percentage impact. Shares rose about 2 per cent as investors welcomed the move.
