iPhone Duo vs Razr Ultra: which 2026 foldable wins?

Apple's $1,999 iPhone Duo and Motorola's $1,499 Razr Ultra take very different approaches to the foldable phone, and buyers must choose between two hardware philosophies.
The Razr Ultra is a clamshell device that folds into a compact 7-inch candybar layout, built for pocketability. The iPhone Duo uses a passport-style book design: closed it works like a regular iPhone, opened it reveals a 7.6-inch display for split-screen multitasking, according to Engadget's comparison.
On specifications, the Duo runs Apple's A20 Pro chip while the Razr Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB of RAM. The Duo carries 48MP wide and ultra-wide cameras against the Razr's dual 50MP setup. Apple claims IP68 dust and water resistance; Motorola manages IP48.
The Duo, which goes on sale October 23, can cost up to $3,200 at 2TB. Reviewers note the $500 gap makes the choice come down to platform loyalty and use case: portability favours the Razr, while productivity and the Apple ecosystem favour the Duo.
