Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says updated intelligence shows Russia is preparing a massive attack on Ukraine. Reuters reported his statement on Tuesday.

“There is updated intelligence indicating that Russia is preparing a massive attack,” Zelensky said. Hours later, ballistic missiles rocked Kyiv, the Statesman reported.

The strikes hit the Ukrainian capital after his warning. Air defenses were active over the city as residents took shelter.

Officials have not released casualty figures from the latest strikes. Ukraine has faced heavy Russian attacks for more than three years.

Zelensky has repeatedly warned of major Russian offensives. The Kremlin did not immediately respond to his latest claim.

Western allies are watching the situation closely. The war continues with no peace deal in sight, and both sides show no sign of backing down.

Ukraine’s air force said defenses shot down many of the incoming missiles. The government urged residents to stay in shelters during alerts.
