SailPoint Unveils Autonomous Agents for AI Identity Security

SailPoint has unveiled Autonomous Agents at its Navigate 2026 conference in Austin, Texas. The fleet of specialised AI agents is built to govern and protect enterprise AI agent ecosystems. The company also launched Autonomous Identity Security Posture Management.
The new agents monitor AI agents at runtime. They intercept threats and right-size permissions automatically. Unlike generic tools that shut agents down on anomalies, SailPoint’s agents use identity context to separate legitimate intent from malicious activity. They enforce zero standing privilege at machine speed.
The launch responds to a stark gap. SailPoint’s report found 79 per cent of enterprises run AI agents in production. Only 2 per cent have identity security tools built to govern them. Human review of every AI action is impossible when agents make thousands of tool calls per second.
The update also adds just-in-time provisioning for humans and machines. It replaces always-on access with temporary permissions. SailPoint says the goal is to turn static compliance into real-time automated defence.
