Supreme Court Accepts Rajpal Yadav’s Proposal to Sell Property

The Supreme Court on Tuesday accepted actor Rajpal Yadav’s proposal to sell his ancestral property to clear dues in long-running cheque bounce cases. The bench comprised Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana.
Yadav submitted demand drafts of Rs 1.15 crore and undertook to pay another Rs 85 lakh by October 12. The court had earlier directed him to deposit Rs 5 crore, and Tuesday’s order records the revised compliance plan.
The cases stem from a loan taken for Yadav’s 2012 directorial venture Ata Pata Laapata. Lender Murli Projects moved court over cheques that bounced, leading to proceedings that have continued for years.
The court will monitor the property sale and further payments. The order gives the actor a structured path to settle the dues while the underlying cases proceed.
Yadav, known for comic roles in films like Hungama and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, has continued to act while the cases proceeded. The court’s structured payment plan gives both sides a clear timeline for settlement.
