Kharge says BJP will be held accountable for vote chori

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has stepped up the attack on the BJP over voter roll revisions. Speaking during the opposition protest in Delhi on October 6, Kharge said the BJP would be held accountable for vote chori. He said the Election Commission cannot stand for Election Compromised. Kharge joined Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders in the march to the Election Commission. The march was stopped by police near Akashvani Bhawan. Kharge said the opposition represents nearly 60 percent of the country in Parliament. He said it is the opposition’s duty to raise the voice of the people. The Congress has launched a nationwide campaign on the issue. From October 10 to 20, the party will hold block-level marches. These will culminate at sub-divisional magistrate offices. Village chaupals will be held to explain the issue to voters. Booth-level agents will identify voters deleted unfairly. The party aims to ensure their re-enrolment. The Congress will also hold six Delhi Chalo rallies from Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on November 25. These will end in Delhi on Constitution Day, November 26. The BJP has dismissed the allegations as baseless.
