Netflix To Stream Disney Titles In New Licensing Deal
Disney and Netflix have struck a new licensing deal that will bring a slate of Disney-owned films and series to Netflix, Variety reported on October 2. The agreement is non-exclusive, so titles will continue to stream on Disney-owned services.
The first wave arrived on October 4: seasons 1 and 2 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians and all five Ice Age films, each available on Netflix globally for three-month windows. Will Trent seasons 1-4 arrive on November 3, and Shifting Gears on December 1 in the US.
Pixar titles Soul and Elio and Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon are expected on Netflix in early 2027, with timing varying by region. Older shows including Felicity, Revenge, Army Wives and Fresh Off the Boat are also part of the deal.
Disney is using Netflix’s audience of more than 325 million users to build visibility for upcoming releases. Percy Jackson season 3 premieres on Disney+ on November 20, while Ice Age: Boiling Point hits cinemas on February 5, 2027.
