Trump’s Gaza plan, one year on: what we know so far

A year has passed since US President Donald Trump unveiled his 20-point plan for Gaza. The war has not ended. Here is what we know so far.
The initial phase produced a ceasefire on October 10, 2025. The last hostages were freed. Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners were released. Aid began flowing into Gaza.
But the later phases have stalled. Hamas has not disarmed. Israel has not pulled out of Gaza. It controls about two-thirds of the territory.
The Trump-led Board of Peace has not taken shape. The International Stabilization Force has not deployed. Both ideas exist only on paper.
Gaza’s health ministry says at least 1,400 Palestinians have died since the ceasefire. Many were women and children. Five Israeli soldiers have also been killed.
Israel says its strikes target Hamas. Hamas denies rearming. Reconstruction has not started. Most of Gaza lies in ruins.
Palestinians face severe shortages of food, water and shelter. The plan once raised hopes of a lasting peace. A year on, it remains mostly on paper. The fighting continues almost daily.
