Cameron Green in Doubt for First Test Against South Africa

Australia all-rounder Cameron Green is a major doubt for the first Test against South Africa, starting on October 9 in Durban.
Green hurt his lower abdomen playing a hook shot in the third ODI in Potchefstroom on September 30. He missed the two-day warm-up game and has been limited to light conditioning work, according to reports in The West Australian.
The injury is a fresh blow. Green was already managing a sore shoulder that limited his bowling in the ODI series. The setback could keep him out of the series opener, with selectors eyeing the second or third Test for his return.
Cooper Connolly is in line for a recall as a batting all-rounder. Australia have also added Nic Maddinson and Sam Harper to the squad, with Josh Inglis ruled out by a fractured finger.
Green had already been under a cloud before the tour. His shoulder was taped during the ODI series, and team staff have been cautious with his workload. A final call is expected at the team announcement closer to October 9, with coaches monitoring his conditioning sessions.
