Trump Approval at Record Low 32%, Reuters/Ipsos Finds

President Donald Trump's approval rating has held at a record low of 32 per cent, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll completed on October 5. The six-day survey of 4,506 US adults had a margin of error of about two points.
The poll found particular weakness among Hispanic voters, who helped power Trump's 2024 win. Just 24 per cent of Hispanic Americans approve of his performance — the lowest of either of his terms. Only 26 per cent of Hispanic registered voters plan to vote Republican in the November 3 midterms, while 52 per cent plan to vote Democrat.
The survey linked the slide to high inflation, which respondents tied to Trump's war with Iran and tariff policies. The findings add pressure on Republicans defending narrow congressional majorities.
Trump has dismissed negative polling in the past and is campaigning aggressively in the final month. But with early voting underway in many states, the numbers suggest the White House faces a difficult November.
