Centre extends RoDTEP, RoSCTL export schemes till Dec 31

The Centre has extended two key export incentive schemes till December 31, 2026. The move gives exporters three more months of duty relief.
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry extended the RoDTEP scheme. The Ministry of Textiles extended the RoSCTL scheme for apparel, garments and made-ups. Both extensions run from October 1 to December 31 at existing rates and guidelines.
RoSCTL has operated since March 7, 2019. It refunds embedded state and central taxes that exporters cannot claim back elsewhere. In 2025-26, it benefited more than 15,400 exporters across 444 districts, mostly small and medium firms.
The extension brings policy certainty at a difficult time. Exporters face disrupted shipping routes and weak global demand amid the West Asia crisis.
Separately, the government also extended enhanced insurance cover against payment defaults for export consignments to West Asia till March 31, 2027, under the Export Promotion Mission.
Exporter bodies had sought a longer extension with adequate budget support. The RoDTEP budget for this fiscal stands at Rs 10,000 crore.
