India’s EV sales jump 63% to 3.07 lakh units in July

India’s electric vehicle market grew strongly in July 2026. Total EV registrations rose 63.18 per cent year-on-year to 3,07,752 units, according to a report by JMK Research and Analytics.

Sales were also up 0.72 per cent from June, when 3,05,566 units were registered. The data shows steady month-on-month expansion in EV adoption across the country.

Electric two-wheelers dominated with a 61.37 per cent share of registrations. Electric passenger three-wheelers had 23.72 per cent, while electric cars made up 10.01 per cent of the total.

Electric car sales stood at 30,806 units in July, up 81 per cent from a year earlier. They were down 2 per cent from June. EV penetration in the passenger vehicle segment rose to 7.92 per cent.

The report said growth is being driven by a wider range of EV models, more charging stations and improving buyer confidence. Electric three-wheeler sales also stayed strong at 84,554 units, up 9 per cent from June.
