Lydian Energy seals 300 million dollar US power financing

Lydian Energy has closed a 300-million-dollar credit facility with infrastructure asset manager Infranity to fund its expanding United States solar and battery portfolio.

The holding-company facility can support development, construction, acquisitions and operations across about 6 gigawatts of projects. Lydian is backed by Excelsior Energy Capital, and its platform spans assets in the ERCOT, CAISO, SPP, MISO and western United States markets.

The deal is notable because it sits at the holding-company level rather than being tied to a single project. That lets Lydian recycle capital from operating assets into new ones without arranging separate financing for each development.

The transaction adds to a busy year for clean-energy financing in the United States, where developers are racing to build solar and storage capacity.

For Lydian, the flexible pool of capital means it can move faster on a pipeline that stretches from ready-to-build projects to early-stage development. The facility also gives Lydian room to move quickly on acquisitions as they arise.
