AIDEF demands Rs 69,000 minimum pay from 8th CPC

The All India Defence Employees’ Federation has demanded a minimum pay of Rs 69,000 from the 8th Central Pay Commission. It also wants a fitment factor of 3.83.

AIDEF submitted detailed representations to the commission. The federation represents defence civilian employees across the country.

The key argument is a shift from a three-unit family norm to a five-unit norm. The 7th Pay Commission counted only the employee, spouse and two children. AIDEF wants dependent parents added: 0.8 unit each for father and mother.

Current minimum basic pay for Level 1 employees is Rs 18,000. AIDEF wants it raised to Rs 69,000 with effect from January 1, 2026.

The federation also seeks restoration of the Old Pension Scheme. It wants the pension commutation restoration period cut from 15 years to 11 years.

These are demands placed before the commission. The 8th CPC is still holding consultations. No final recommendations have been announced.
