BMW’s New Electric 3 Series i3 Promises 900+ Km Range

BMW has unveiled the new 3 Series, headlined by the first fully electric version of its best-known sedan, the i3.
The i3 is the second model built on BMW's new Neue Klasse platform after the iX3 SUV, using 800-volt architecture. It launches in two all-electric variants: the i3 40 xDrive starting at 59,900 euros in Germany and the i3 50 xDrive at 65,900 euros. A First Edition of the 50 xDrive costs 75,340 euros.
The headline figure is range. The 108.7 kWh battery delivers up to 912 km on the WLTP cycle, and 400 kW DC fast charging can add nearly 440 km of range in about 10 minutes.
Petrol power continues alongside. The mild-hybrid 318 starts at 49,900 euros, the 320 at 54,900 euros, and the performance M350 xDrive at 80,900 euros with 437 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. A plug-in hybrid follows in 2027.
Orders opened on September 30, 2026, with production at BMW's main plant in Munich. Technology highlights include the Panoramic iDrive display, an Intelligent Personal Assistant with Amazon Alexa+ AI planned, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Level 2 driver assistance with a Motorway Assistant enabling hands-free driving at up to 130 kmph in specified countries.
