Rahul Gandhi Asks Amit Shah to Answer on Jantar Mantar Row

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday demanded answers from Union Home Minister Amit Shah over alleged misconduct by Delhi Police personnel during a protest at Jantar Mantar.
A female journalist has accused a police officer of misbehaviour at the protest site. In a post on X written in Hindi, Gandhi said hundreds of journalists sat at Jantar Mantar for hours demanding that an FIR be registered.
“A female journalist has accused a police officer of misconduct at Jantar Mantar. For hours, hundreds of journalists have been sitting there with just one demand: that an FIR be registered. Isn’t that the police’s basic duty?” he wrote.
Gandhi said Delhi Police comes under the Home Ministry, so the Home Minister must answer. He also alleged that hundreds of people were taken into custody at the site on Saturday.
The student group AISA said in a statement that women protesters, journalists and lawyers were manhandled by male police, and that several women complained of being groped.
