Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha was flown back to Mumbai in an air ambulance on October 3 after suffering a spinal fracture in an accident in Bali, multiple reports said. She is expected to undergo surgery in Mumbai.

Her publicist Sanchita Trivedi confirmed the injury. The actress had travelled to Bali for a film shoot when the accident occurred. She first received treatment at a hospital in Bali before being moved home.

Videos from her arrival showed her being shifted on a stretcher into an ambulance in Mumbai. Her team said the recovery will take a long time and asked everyone to respect her privacy.

The injury comes as Bharuccha had recently joined the cast of an upcoming action film with Tiger Shroff, her first collaboration with the actor. Her professional commitments are likely to be affected in the coming weeks.

Her team thanked fans and well-wishers for their concern. “We request everyone to respect her privacy at this time and allow her the space to focus on her treatment and recovery,” the team said, adding that updates will be shared when appropriate.
