Munich Leaders Meeting opens in New Delhi today

The Munich Leaders Meeting opens in New Delhi today, bringing about 100 senior decision-makers to the Indian capital for two days of off-the-record discussions on global security.
The October 4-5 gathering is chaired by Wolfgang Ischinger, president of the Munich Security Conference. It is held at The Imperial hotel with support from India’s Ministry of External Affairs, and backed by the Boston Consulting Group and BMW, according to the conference.
Sessions will cover geoeconomics, trade and connectivity, maritime security, and defence cooperation. A margins meeting of the Tech Security Initiative will discuss transatlantic alignment on artificial superintelligence with India’s principal scientific adviser, officials said.
The New Delhi meeting is one of several regional Munich Leaders Meetings held each year, alongside gatherings in Washington, Riyadh and Abu Dhabi. This year’s India edition reflects the growing weight of middle powers in shaping the security order.
The format follows Chatham House rules, meaning participants can use the information discussed but cannot attribute it to individuals. No public statements are expected during the meeting.
