Hope’s 162* Powers West Indies’ Record 352 Chase Over India

West Indies pulled off the highest successful run chase in their ODI history on Saturday, hunting down 352 to beat India by five wickets in the third and final ODI at New Chandigarh.
Captain Shai Hope led the chase with an unbeaten 162 off 143 balls, hitting 16 fours and two sixes. He shared a century stand with Amir Jangoo, who made 67 before being run out by Virat Kohli. Gudakesh Motie finished 19 not out as West Indies reached 352 for five in 48.2 overs, with ten balls to spare.
The previous West Indian record for a successful ODI chase was 328 against Ireland in Dublin in 2019. It was also their first ODI win on Indian soil in nearly seven years.
India had posted 351 for seven after KL Rahul’s career-best 129 not out off 87 balls, his ninth ODI hundred. Rohit Sharma made 92 off 85 balls, while Jayden Seales took three for 62 after reducing India to four for two early on.
India had already sealed the three-match series and finished 2-1 winners.
